ELSIE HAS LEISHMANIASIS, PLEASE RESEARCH THIS BEFORE APPLYING AS IT IS A LIFELONG CONDITION. We are happy to discuss Elsie’s treatment plan with any potential adopters.

Elsie came in on the 3rd of February after being tied up at our front gates. When she first arrived Elsie was incredibly nervous and in a lot of discomfort due to her multiple wounds and a deep laceration on her paw. After several vet visits and numerous tests we discovered she had Leishmania and was very anaemic and weak and we were unsure whether she would recover. However, Elsie is a fighter and has amazed us all! 

Elsie has become a cheeky, bouncy, happy girl! She loves to play with other dogs (although she can be quite full on!). She enjoys playing with her toys and chasing a ball but her favourite thing in the world is food!!! She can still be shy and wary of strangers but it doesn’t take long to win her over. Elsie was originally a rescue from Spain and as we have no previous history we are looking for an adult only home. 

Elsie has recovered remarkable well and if very stable on her treatment, this will be a lifelong condition where she will have bad flare ups which will effect her skin and energy levels. With her treatment plan this is all very manageable and she can live a long and happy life.
