About me
Hamish originally came in on the 4th of September due to his previous owner’s ill health. We found him a new home within a few weeks but unfortunately he has been returned to us recently due to some previously unknown behavioural issues. Hamish is now looking for an owner with some knowledge of resource guarding who is prepared to continue his training and work with our behaviourist.
Hamish in general is a very friendly, affectionate boy once he knows you and enjoys to sit on your lap for a cuddle. He knows sit, paw, lie down and his name and lots of other tricks too. Hamish loves playing with his toys and enjoys his walks. He is still a pup at heart and will need lots of training and mental stimulation in his new home.
He is sociable with other dogs and has made lots of doggie friends at the shelter although he can be a little amorous with them! Hamish will need a home without cats or small animals.
Due to his lack of confidence Hamish is looking for an experienced owner who knows about positive reinforcement training and is prepared to spend the time needed to turn Hamish into a well balanced dog. He needs an adult only home and cannot live with children or have any visiting children.
