About me
Ella came in on the 14th of October from an unsuitable home. She had spent the last 2 years living in a crate.
When Ella first arrived she was very shut down and terrified. It took several weeks for her to begin to trust us and even then she was still a very worried girl. Over time Ella has grown in confidence and has really bonded with her human carers.
Ella is your typical, cheeky, feisty chihuahua! She has big opinions and likes to tell you about them! She loves her food and will steal treats right out of your pocket. Ella loves her toys, especially soft squeaky chihuahua sized ones and enjoys her walks as long as it’s not too cold.
Ella is still very concerned by strangers and will react if they approach or attempt to touch her. Anyone wishing to adopt her will need to be prepared to make several visits to the shelter to get to know her and gain her trust.
Ella is reactive to other dogs but has made one friend at the shelter who is a little male, chihuahua cross. She will need to be the only dog in her new home.
Unfortunately because Ella lived for so long in a confined space she suffered severe muscle wastage which may have caused some long term damage to her joints. She is getting stronger every day and is on long term medication to manage this. Further information will be given to anyone interested in adopting her.
Ella is looking for an adult only, experienced home and will need to live in a quiet home environment as she can be quite sound sensitive.
