About me
Digger came in on the 16th of December after being rescued from a house fire. Luckily for him he had avoided any burns but did have smoke inhalation and ulcers in both eyes. He was a very poorly boy to begin with but after some TLC along with medication and eye drops several times a day he has recovered well.
Digger is a lively affectionate pup, who loves a cuddle and a play. He didn’t have the best start in life and has sadly already had multiple homes He is highly intelligent and loves to learn and explore. His training is going well with his recalls and lead walking and he has also mastered sit, paw and touch to name a few. Digger is going through his mouthy adolescent stage, which is normal for his age, but this will also need to be managed in the right way to teach him in a kind way, that he can chew his toys, not his humans. He has already mastered house training as well.
Likely as a result of poor socialisation, Digger likes other dogs, but can be very over the top around them and tends to try to run into greetings at 100 miles an hour. This is being worked on whilst he is in our care, but it is likely this will need to continue in his new home.
Digger could maybe live with confident older children but could not live with cats or small animals, this is due to his breed type meaning he can’t resist chasing them. He is still under assessment as to if he could live with another dog, but if he can, it would need to be a very confident dog who is tolerant of puppy/adolescent behaviour.
Digger will need his own garden and a home where he will not be left on his own for too long to begin with. This will need to be built up gradually once he has settled.
Full training and behaviour support will be available to the person lucky enough to take this gorgeous boy home.
