Our Patrons
VIP Supporters of our CharityAs a charity our work is made possible by the donations we receive.
Here at RSPCA Sussex North & Brighton we are lucky to have some very special VIP supporters who we are proud to call loyal patrons of our charity.
Simon Cowell and Julie Brett
Both Simon Cowell and his late Mum Julie supported the RSPCA and Simon has been our Branch Patron for many years.
Simon used to regularly judge our dog shows and Julie was always a prominent figure on annual open days.
Peter James
Best selling crime writer Peter James has joined us as Branch Patron.
Peter, who is best known for his Brighton based Roy Grace thrillers, and his wife Lara, share their home with more than 70 animals and birds.
Peter explained why he wanted to help us: “Myself and my wife Lara are huge animal lovers. We have a whole menagerie – two dogs, two cats, four pigmy goats, 30 hens and 35 ducks.” Lara has just qualified as a canine massage therapist.
“I grew up with pets and I find animals endlessly fascinating. We had a duck that hatched from an egg, that spent his first five months living in the house with us, sitting on the sofa and watching TV.”
“I am delighted to become patron of RSPCA Brighton because of the work the branch does to help local animals. Brighton will always be part of my life so it is important to me to support local charities that reflect the things I believe in.”
