About me
Poseidon came to us originally via an inspector from a multi cat household. He was recently rehomed but came back to us as the home wasn’t the right fit. Due to his difficult start in life Poseidon had little trust in humans, which led to him having a stressful start in the cattery. Over time, with baby steps (and lots of treats!), his confidence in humans has bloomed and he has realised we aren’t so bad after all!
As time has gone on, we’ve learnt about a few of his favourite things. He loves to play, whether it’s chasing something or running through a tunnel. He adores treats and he’s not fussy about which ones he gets. He enjoys having fuss with people he trusts, but he does prefer be to the one that initiates the interaction rather than being approached – it’s unlikely he will ever be a lap cat. We feel that with lots of time, understanding, and space, Poseidon will eventually be able to be himself and live his best life in a new home. That being said, it is likely that he will struggle with more invasive interactions like being put in a carrier or being handled for the vet. For this reason, his next owners will need to be willing to work with him in these scenarios that can be stressful for both owners and cats.
Because of his extremely shy but very sweet nature, he will benefit from an experienced, calm home who will give him (lots of time and patients) He knows how to use a catflap, so he would like a garden to spend time, and play in. Poseidon could possibly live with a cat that’s used to other cats. Unfortunately, no children, please.
