Trixie: 9 years, spayed female, Staffie

trixie1

Trixie came in on the 11th of March via an Inspector due to a change in circumstances.

She is a friendly, affectionate girl who enjoys attention and is not very happy in kennels.  Trixie knows sit and her name on command and is good when groomed.  She loves her walks and does not act her age! Trixie is not clean in her kennel and will need a reminder about housetraining!

In the kennel environment Trixie is reactive with other dogs as well as on her walks. She has previously lived with another dog so we are hopeful this will calm in a home environment. She has lived with cats in her previous home but we have not tested her with others yet while she has been with us.

Trixie is looking for an experienced owner with plenty of time for training.  She does get very anxious so is not able to be left for long on her own. She needs a patient owner who will allow her time to settle.

*During lockdown and social distancing measures whilst the shelter is closed to the public, we are asking people to fill out a Perfect Match form (which can be found on the main RSPCA website) and emailing it to us at brightonrspca@gmail.com if they are interested in adopting from us. We will be in touch if we feel you may be a good fit. We hope to begin rehoming again soon, under guidelines from headquarters and DEFRA. We will resume rehoming slowly – prioritising local potential adopters, and bringing pets to your home to complete an adoption whilst we remain closed. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this unique experience.
