George came in on the 20th of January as his previous owners could not cope and he was facing euthanasia.
He is a very large, bouncy puppy still who is a real softie at heart. George was a little shy when he first arrived but is now friendly with everyone he meets. He knows sit, stay, wait, paw, leave and his name on command, is good when groomed and loves to play with anything – he really loves footballs and his toys but thinks it is better fun to pinch shoes or anything that is not his!
George is well behaved on his walks but is very strong at times (he weighs 67 kg and is still growing!) He will need an owner who is used to handling very large breeds.
George is very friendly with other dogs and always wants to say hello. He will ignore dogs that do not like him and does not take offense if they bark at him. He needs a home without cats or small animals.
George has had a bad experience with a child in his previous home so cannot live in a home with children or visiting grandchildren. He is ok with children but just does not want to live with them again.
George is looking for an experienced, large breed home and will need a garden and a certain amount of space inside as he takes up a lot of room! He also has some joint issues in his front elbows (probably hereditary) that he may need supplements for as he gets older, he does not need any treatment for this at the moment.
